Legal Notice & GDPR

The legal identity behind bookingdownunder.com and the European data rights that apply to guests booking from the EU and UK.

Last updated: January 2026 · bookingdownunder.com

This page sets out the legal identity of the operator of bookingdownunder.com and explains the data protection rights that apply to guests in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Australia. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect and why.

1. Site operator

bookingdownunder.com is operated by Booking Down Under Pty Ltd, an Australian company directed by S. Whitmore (ABN 48 291 735 064, ACN 274 815 396, Victorian tourism operator registration VIC-90472). The desk operates as an independent reservation and concierge service for Crown Melbourne and is not part of Crown Resorts. Postal address: 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank, Melbourne VIC 3006, Australia.

2. GDPR and European guests

If you book with us from the European Union or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you specific rights over your personal data: the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Requests go to [email protected] and are answered within thirty days. Where we transfer data outside the EU we do so under appropriate safeguards.

3. Lawful bases for processing

We process personal data on the bases the GDPR recognises: performance of a contract (your booking), legitimate interest (running the desk and improving the site), legal obligation (records we must keep), and consent (for anything optional such as the newsletter). Where processing relies on consent you can withdraw it at any point without affecting what happened before.

GDPR in practice

The Privacy Policy on this site covers the operational detail: what we collect, how long we keep it and who we share it with. This page covers the rights and the legal identity. The two documents work together.

4. Complaints

If you believe your data has been mishandled, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. EU guests can complain to their local data protection authority; UK guests to the ICO; Australian guests to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Our contact details for all data matters are [email protected] and +61 3 9292 6688.

5. Intellectual property

The text, design and arrangement of this site are the property of Booking Down Under Pty Ltd. Crown, Crown Melbourne and related venue names are the property of Crown Resorts and are used here descriptively to identify the hotel our services cover. Nothing on this site grants any licence to use our content or theirs.

6. Liability

The desk arranges services; the venues deliver them. We take reasonable care in selecting the suppliers we coordinate with, but the hotel, the casino, the restaurants and the transport operators each operate under their own terms. Australian Consumer Law applies to the services we supply and nothing in this notice limits the rights it gives you.
